FAQ

What are the system requirements to use CamFuze?
An internet connection and a browser with the most recent version of Macromedia Flash Player (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/) installed.

How do I broadcast my cam?
Register an account at http://www.camfuze.com/pages/register.seam Once it is created sign in with your login and click 'Broadcast' at the top of the page. Ensure no other application is using your webcam. (e.g. MSN, AIM, Photo Booth, etc.) Usually only one application at a time can access your webcam. Be sure the camera you are using is plugged in and on before launching your web browser.

Why do I have problems viewing or broadcasting cams?
Check that your internet connection is fast enough. DSL or T1 broadband is not required, but it is strongly recommended. If you have a slower connection, please be patient and allow the cams to load. Closing other programs on your computer will increase speed of loading, viewing, and broadcasting of cams.

How do I upload Photos to my profile?
If you've registered an account, sign in using your username and password. Click "Edit Profile" from the top menu options. Click the 'browse' button to select photos from your computer. Once you've made your selection, click the "Upload" button.

How do I chat?
When you are viewing a webcam, just click on the white area beside the "send" button, type in your message and then click on the "send" button or press the 'enter key'on your keyboard to send your message.

Why am I unable to chat in some rooms?
You can chat in all cams unless the chat has exceeded the maximum free user limit of 100 simultaneous free chatters, or the broadcaster has enabled private chat settings to filter out who can or cannot chat on their cam. If you sign up for a CamFuze Gold membership, you are able to chat in rooms regardless of how many users are chatting in it.

Why am I banned?

Viewer Ban:
Viewers are banned by the person operating the cam. Broadcasters can ban whoever they like, for whatever reason they like. Abusive, harrassing, or threatening chatters are usually banned, so be nice. If you are repeatedly banned by a broadcaster, your account will be suspended for a minimum of one month.

Broadcaster Ban:
Broadcasters are banned for the following reasons:
-illegal activity
-spamming other cam websites
-broadcasting videos rather than their live cam
-static images for long duration
A broadcaster ban can range from 1 day to a permanent ban.

Why I am not getting a confirmation email?
Check your junk mail folder. The spam filter in your email software may be sending them to your junk folder.

How do I cancel my membership?
Go to ccbill.com to cancel online or via telephone.

How do I turn my sound on/off?
To turn sound off/on, scroll to the bottom of the live broadcaster's image and click on the speaker box. To increase or decrease volume drag the volume bar right to increase volume or left to decrease volume.

Why do I get the message "Where is the debugger or host application running"?
This is an error that flash player 9 is missing components.
For Internet Explorer - Download and install Flash Player 9 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE)For Firefox - Download and install Flash Player 9 Plugin content debugger (for Netscape-compatible browsers)

I have a firewall on my home PC using IPtables and I need to know what port/protocol to open for accessing camfuze?
You need to open the RTMP TCP port of 1935 to access CamFuze webcams through your firewall.

Why are cams are running slow. How can I fix it?
If a particular cam is running slow and others fast, the broadcaster may have a slow internet connection. There is nothing you can do about this. If all cams are running slow it could be for any of the following reasons:
-you are viewing multiple cams and running multiple programs which may be causing your harddisk to run out of memory. Closing all applications and viewing one cam at a time, or increasing memory on your computer may speed things up
-we are having temporary issues with our servers or our network, or your internet provider is having temporary issues.
